About the Author

Scott Geffert is the president and co-founder of Center for

Digital Imaging Inc. a New York City based technology consulting

ﬁrm specializing in digital photography and imaging workﬂow.

A graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology, Scott has been

involved with Photography since 1976, and the Apple®

Macintosh™ computer platform since 1984.

Early in his career, Scott worked in photo labs, sold lighting

equipment (Balcar), and created the country’s ﬁrst dedicated

digital imaging sales center for New York’s Ken Hansen

Photographic in 1989.

In 1996 Scott, and his partner Howard Goldstein created Center

for Digital Imaging Inc. a company dedicated to building digital

imaging workﬂow solutions for the commercial photography

market.

Known for maintaining the highest quality standards and process

control, CDI has been retained by leading art institutions,

photographers, and corporations to develop and support digital

imaging initiatives.

CDI has produced seminars and training materials for various

manufacturers and trade organizations, and in 2003 CDI was

invited to produce the Digital Learning Center at the Photo Plus

East photography trade show in New York. This event

highlighted the workﬂow of The Metropolitan Museum of Art,

one of CDI’s ﬁrst clients. CDI has been retained to produce the

2004 event. This book is Scott’s second ﬁeld guide project.
